Many channels on YouTube explains how to get more views, and one of the idea is to use YouTube Editor to cut or trim your video. The reason behind not to have "drops" in the users retention. Before you start using this, be sure you understand the impact.

Trimming your Videos
When you trim your videos, your gained watched hours (to get monetized on YouTube) are removed.This is conformed by YouTubeTeam on Twitter, after my discussion with them.

Before you use YouTube editor and trim your video, make sure you checked your watch videos hours for that video and decide if it is worth loosing them or not.
